Developed by HERE Studio founder Alex Matthews, De La Calle brings Tepache, the beloved traditional Mexican drink, to the USA.
Tepache is a fermented beverage dating back to Pre-Columbian Mexico made from the skins of pineapples.
De La Calle brings the beloved traditional Mexican staple to the US market in 2021. Using an authentic recipe from a 3rd generation tepache maker Rafael Martin Del Campo, the fermented pineapple drink with zero booze will be one of the first to get markets here in the US.
Developed by founder Alex Matthews and Sandy Yang, the creative goal was a fun, irregular vibe that would look at home in the streets of Mexico!
We immersed ourselves in Mexico over numerous trips to Mexico City, Oaxaca and Monterrey to grasp the essence of Tepache and how it's served in the streets. Inspired by Mexican sign writing, wall murals and hand-painted window messages the brand has been shaped by the streets of Mexico!
